Christoph Joseph Wolf

Christoph Joseph Wolf , actually Johann Christoff Wolff (baptized February 13, 1679 in Frühbuß ; buried November 10, 1747 there ), was Nostitz's head of mining and mining, quarter master, tax collector, councilor and city judge of Frühbuß.

Life

He was the son of the miner Christoph Wolff and Anna Maria geb. Unger. The family seems to have lived in the village since 1559. As early as 1711 he worked as a quarter master in Frühbuß and also appeared as a tax collector in 1713. He was a member of the council and held the office of judge von Frühbuß from 1724 to 1730. In 1727 he also took over the function of the high counts mining and mining office head. During his tenure, probably even before that, mining in early penance lost its importance. The mining authority there has not had a miner since that time. The reason was probably the exhaustion of the tin deposits and the increased costs for drainage, which made mining increasingly unprofitable. Like most residents, Wolf also had to turn to another source of income and thus traded in lace. He died in 1747 at the age of 69.
