Christoph Müller (legal scholar, 1927)

Christoph Müller (born December 29, 1927 in Oberhermersdorf ) is a German legal scholar and former university professor.

life and work

Müller studied at the Theological Seminary Berlin initially theology . He finished his studies in 1952 as a certified candidate before turning to law and studying it at the University of Bonn . In 1965 he was promoted to a doctorate in Bonn with a thesis supervised by Martin Drath . iur. PhD. After studying at Harvard University , Müller completed his habilitation and in 1972 became a professor at the University of Giessen . In 1973 he moved to the Free University of Berlin to the full chair for constitutional law and politics, which he held until his retirement in 1993. He later held teaching positions in China and Japan, after serving as a visiting professor in Buenos Aires in 1986.

Müller's research focuses primarily on the constitutional foundations of local law and the work of Hugo Preuss .
