Christoph Stark (politician)

Christoph Stark (born April 1, 1967 in Gleisdorf , Styria ) is an Austrian politician of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) and has been a member of the National Council since 2017 .

Life

Christoph Stark, born and raised in Gleisdorf, enrolled after graduating from the Technical University of Graz , where he first studied sound engineering . However, he moved to the Karl-Franzens University to study law there. Since he became a father, he did not finish his studies. In 1987 he became an employee of the district administration for the district of Weiz .

In March 2000, Stark ran for the office of mayor of Gleisdorf, and was surprisingly elected. He was sworn in on April 18 of the same year. Since then he has been in charge of the political affairs of the municipality, which has almost 11,000 inhabitants.

In 2017, Stark ran for election to the National Council and made it into parliament with around 10,600 preferential votes .

Christoph Stark is married. He has two grown daughters from his previous marriage.
