Christopher Bobonich

Christopher Bobonich , also Chris (born February 8, 1960 ) is an American historian of philosophy .

After receiving his BA in Government from Harvard University in 1981, Bobonich earned an MPhil in Philosophy from Cambridge University in 1983 . He received his PhD in philosophy in 1990 from Alan Code at the University of California at Berkeley . He then taught at the University of Chicago and, since 1996, at Stanford University . There he is currently the Clarence Irving Lewis Professor of Philosophy and Professor of Classics (honorary).

Bobonich works on the philosophy of antiquity . His main research interests are ethics , political philosophy , psychology , metaphysics and epistemology . He became known through his work on Plato's Nomoi .
