Christopher Muhando

Christopher Muhando is a Tanzanian ecologist and marine biologist at the University of Dar es Salaam .

Muhando put a Diploma in Fisheries at the Tanzania Fisheries Research Institute (TAFIRI) in Dar es Salaam , now and a postgraduate diploma in "Fisheries Biology and Management" at the Norwegian University of Bergen . He obtained his master's degree in general and applied marine ecology from the Vrije Universiteit Brussels (VUB) in Belgium . For the Ph.D. he received his PhD in marine biology from the University of Dar es Salaam .

Christopher Muhando's research focuses on the monitoring of coral reefs and fisheries around Zanzibar . He is the head of the Tanzania Coral Reef Task Force (TzCRTF), which cooperates with foreign institutions to protect marine habitats.
