The Christ the King statue in Lens (Statue du Christ-Roi à Lens) is a 15 meter high statue of Christ in the municipality of Lens in Valais in Switzerland . It is intended to mark the 21st century of the death of Jesus Christ . It stands above the canton capital Sion and was inaugurated on September 22, 1935.

It was built on the summit of the Colline du Châtelard at 1272 m. ü. M., symbolically high above the Rhone Valley , not far from the underground lake of St. Leonard . It is the culmination of the work of Canons Pierre Gard.

The statue stands on a 15-meter-high base, under which a chapel has been installed. On the base is a metal plaque with the inscription: “Le Valais au Christ-Roi” (“Valais be consecrated to the King Christ”). The figure holds a cross in his left hand while his right hand is raised to take an oath.

The 13 coats of arms of the canton of Valais and some images of saints are painted in the chapel: St. Peter in chains (St. Pierre-aux-Liens), St. Bernard of Mont-Joux, St. Mauritius and St. Theodul .

The statue cost 42,000 francs.
