Hushållsost ( Swedish household cheese ) is a Swedish cheese made from cow's milk . It is a semi-hard cheese with small, grainy holes made from whole milk. Hushållsost is made in cylindrical loaves weighing between 1 and 2 kilograms and is now wrapped in plastic wrap for an average of 60 days of maturation. Its taste is described as mild and slightly sour. Hushållsost is a “ guaranteed traditional specialty ” that has been documented in writing since 1898.
