Christ patiens

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Christ patiens is the title of a neo-Latin tragedy by Hugo Grotius about the passion of Jesus Christ .

Grotius probably received a suggestion for this from Daniel Heinsius , who mentions the subject in his treatise De Tragoediae Constitutione (On the construction of tragedy, Leiden 1611, 2nd ed. 1643).
