Christ Church (Klagenfurt am Wörthersee)
The Evangelical Christ Church Klagenfurt A. B. is located in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee in Auer-von-Welsbachstraße.
Building
The church was built in 1963 according to the plans of the architect Franz Rohner. The rectangular hall building under an asymmetrical gable roof ends at the bottom with a natural stone plinth. The church tower of the basic design was not built for financial reasons. The east wall has a ribbon of glass windows based on a design by the painter Josefine Kreuzer. The organ from 1988 comes from Orgelbau Pirchner . From 2005 to 2006 a free-standing church tower was added to the church according to plans by the architect Werner Omansiek.
From 1980 to 1988, the future Bishop Herwig Sturm worked as a pastor at the Christ Church.
