Chthonia (daughter of Alkyoneus)
Chthonia ( Greek Χθονία ) is in Greek mythology one of the Alkyonids, daughters of Alkyoneus .
Chthonia, along with her sisters Anthe , Methone , Alkippe , Pallene , Drimo and Asterie, are transformed into kingfishers when they throw themselves off a cliff in mourning for their late father Alkyoneus.
