Cibitoke is a city in the northwest of the central African state Burundi and the capital of the province of the same name, Cibitoke . It is located about five kilometers east of the Ruzizi River , which forms the border with the Democratic Republic of the Congo here.

The population was 8,280 in 1990 and 23,885 in 2008.

The city is the birthplace of Odette Ntahonvukiye (* 1994), a Burundian judo - martial artist .
