Ciboney culture

The Ciboney culture (also: Siboney ) is a Mesoamerican indigenous Indian people who lived in western Cuba and southwestern Hispaniola ( Haiti ) at the time of discovery, around 1500 AD . The name means "stone people" in the language of their Arawak neighbors. Nothing has been handed down about the Ciboney's own language. Their culture was “ Stone Age ”: tools were made from shells and stone. They were fishermen , hunters and gatherers .
