Cinegram

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Cinégram corporation was a Swiss film production company based in Geneva . It was founded on February 10, 1928. It was used to produce and award the Swiss Film Weekly (1940–1975). It existed until August 24, 1994.

The company was founded by Arthur-Adrien Porchet , Charles and Alfred Masset. Porchet was a co-founder of the first Swiss film weekly show.

In 1931 Cinégram introduced the English sound film system Visatone . The Dufaycolor color film process followed in 1938 .

The beginnings were the operation of Porchets, AAP Films, to create subtitles, fades, tricks and finally copies. Cinégram developed into the largest film technology company in Switzerland with its headquarters in Geneva and a subsidiary in Zurich, the former Turicop . The company received the first blow of destruction in 1988 with the decision on Swiss television to switch from film reporting to ENG. Homemade mistakes made her strong customers alienated, and the classic self-service mentality in the management also contributed to the fact that she got into financial difficulties.
