history

Giuseppe Scicluna founded the first private bank in Malta in 1840. At some point the word checks changed to cisk and Giuseppe Scicluna soon became known as Iċ-Ċisk (The Ċisk (German: The Ċisk)). In 1928, his bank took over the business of a customer who owned the licenses for Pilsner beer and Munich-type beer . In 1928, for example, Malta's first lager, the Cisk Pilsner, was brewed. In 1948 the Simonds Farsons Cisk plc was founded, when this brewery merged with the Farsons Brewery and the importer H & G Simons .
