The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) is the Australian aviation authority responsible for civil aviation in Australia and its suburbs .

The agency was founded on July 6, 1995 when the former Civil Aviation Authority of Australia transferred air surveillance to Airservices Australia .

tasks

CASA licenses pilots, ground crew, aviation and airfield personnel under the Australian Civil Aviation Act 1988 and Air Navigation Act 1920 . The agency is administered by a Chief Executive Officer and reports to the Federal Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government .

The Aviation Authority regulates civil aviation over Australia and its outlying areas, develops regulations on safety standards, the use of drugs and alcohol on airplanes, issues certificates, licenses, registrations and issues bans. It is also the overall supervisor of the aviation industry and is responsible for preparing reports on it. She also reviews developments in international aviation security.
