Claudia Bieling

Claudia Bieling (* 1973 ) is a German forest and landscape scientist. She is professor for social transformation and agriculture at the University of Hohenheim .

Claudia Bieling studied forest science in Göttingen and did her doctorate at the University of Freiburg in landscape management in the field of forest and environmental policy.

It deals from a transdisciplinary perspective with the relationships between ecological and social factors in land use and food systems. Her focus is on cultural landscapes and opportunities for socio-ecological resilience.

She is a member of the editorial team of Conservation Letters ( SCB ) and GAIA - Ecological Perspectives for Science and Society ( oekom-Verlag ). In addition to her professorship in Hohenheim, she has been visiting professor at the Sustainability Faculty at Leuphana University Lüneburg since July 2018 .
