Claudia Florio

Claudia Florio (born January 12, 1951 in Ancona ) is an Italian film director and screenwriter .

Life

Florio studied linguistics and worked as an interpreter while taking courses for actors at the Actors Studio and screenwriting with Robert Mackee . Her tasks in the film sector in the 1970s included working on translations and editing for screen and television. Then she directed a considerable number of short and documentary films such as Il pittore e il marnaio , Malesh or Dalla parte del cittadino .

After working as an assistant director , Florio made her debut in 1983 with Ochhei, occhei , which premiered at the Taormina Festival and was only followed by her second film in 1999. La regina degli scacchi from 2001 is her last film contribution to date.
