Claudia Mitscha-Eibl (born June 17, 1958 in Mistelbach , Lower Austria ) is a teacher and songwriter.

Life

Claudia Mitscha-Eibl studied Catholic theology and music ( recorder ). She is a teacher for religion at the training institute for special needs education in Vienna , songwriter and mother of three children. She lives in Korneuburg .

Already as a child enthusiastic about music and instruments, the fate of disabled children in the psychiatric hospital had a lasting influence on the then 22-year-old student. She wrote the song from the children's home , which was followed by numerous others and also published on CD. She became famous for her “Mirjam Song”. The lyrics are the great strength of the feminist- Christian songwriter.

Claudia Mitscha-Eibl is the first recipient of the 1999 Hanna Strack Prize . She was awarded the prize for her Mirjam song, which expresses the liberating power of God in a new language and rousing melody for many women and men . The "Miriam song" is also printed in the song book of the ecumenical church convention.
