Hanna Strack

Hanna Strack , b. Heinrich, (born October 9, 1936 in Weiler ) is a German Protestant theologian and author . She lives in Pinnow near Schwerin.

Life

Strack studied Protestant theology in Berlin, Marburg, Zurich and Heidelberg, among others with Ernst Fuchs and Gerhard Ebeling . In 1965 she was ordained in the Evangelical Church in Baden . She belonged to the first generation of women who were treated the same as men, but initially only in the Baden regional church. After a year as vicar in Karlsruhe-Mühlburg, she worked as a religion teacher at various types of schools, most recently at the Pestalozzi-Gymnasium in Munich .

From 1993 to 2005 she was co-editor and co-author of the women's church calendar and founded the Hanna-Strack-Verlag for its publication. In this context, she also donated the Hanna Strack Prize , which honors poets of God . With Eleonora Kostjuk she published the Christian calendar for women in German and Russian, which was printed in Germany and in St. Petersburg and sent to the territory of the former Soviet Union.

From 1994 to 1997 she was the leading pastor of the Evangelical Women's Aid of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mecklenburg . She initiated the “Journey to the Holy Women” in the churches of Mecklenburg.

Since 1987 she has devoted herself to feminist theology and the women's liturgy movement. She wrote and published blessing texts related to everyday life and thus gave the impetus to creativity in this area. In 2006 she published her book Die Frau ist Mit-Schöpferin. A Theology of Birth , the first known work on the subject. This was followed by many lecture tours at home and abroad, book chapters and essays.

In 2017, the book “Schöpfungswonne. A theology of blooming ”, in which she presents images of blooming-growing-fruiting both in man and in the Bible. She calls this personal book her theological legacy.
