Claus Achton Friis

Claus Achton Friis (born April 4, 1917 in Frederiksberg ; † March 21, 1999 in Copenhagen - Lyngby ) was a Danish architect, graphic artist and postage stamp artist.

He was the son of the Danish Greenland explorer and painter Johannes Achton Friis and the violinist Martha Elster.

He achieved great fame for the fact that he designed Denmark's royal coat of arms in 1972 . His other work also included postage stamps, book covers, etc.
