Clement Byrne Christesen

Clement Byrne "Clem" Christesen (* 1911 in Townsville ; † 2003 ) was an Australian journalist and the founder of the literary magazine Meanjin .

He moved to Brisbane with his family in 1917 , attended the University of Queensland and worked as a journalist in Brisbane. After traveling overseas, he founded the literary magazine Meanjin Papers in December 1940 and remained an author until 1974. In 1942 he married Nina Maximoff.
