Cleveland Velodrome

The Cleveland Velodrome is a cycling track in the US Cleveland in Ohio .

The Velodrome, or "V" for short, is one of a total of 26 Velodrome in the United States and the only one in Ohio. It was created on the basis of a private initiative and was financed solely by crowdfunding . The Fast Track Cycling , which owns the track, is a nonprofit organization. The cycling track was opened in August 2012; it is 166 meters long with a curve increase of 50 degrees. The construction costs amounted to 300,000 dollars . More than 10,000 people have used the cycle track since it opened.

Fast Track Cycling aims to provide physical activity programs for young people and adults. Use of the train is free. Another goal is to contribute to the redevelopment and sustainable development of this quarter, the so-called Slavic Village . In the 19th century, mainly Polish and Czech immigrants settled here, which is why there are numerous historical buildings here. The development company Slavic Village Development was founded for this project at the end of the 1990s .
