Clifford Campbell
Sir Clifford Clarence Campbell ON , GCMG , GCVO , (born June 28, 1892 in Petersfield , Westmoreland , Jamaica ; † September 28, 1991 ) was Governor General of Jamaica between December 1, 1962 and March 2, 1973 .
The son of James Campbell and Blance Ruddock Campbell was a teacher and principal in Westmoreland. As a member of the Jamaica Labor Party , he eventually became Speaker of the House of Representatives and later also President of the Senate.
Campbell was the first native Jamaican to hold the office of Governor General.
