Climate Communication Prize

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Climate Communication Prize has been awarded annually since 2011 by the American Geophysical Union (AGU). The aim of the award is to highlight the importance of making scientific findings in the field of climatology accessible to a broad mass. The award honors the dissemination of scientific knowledge, not the research itself.

This communication can take place in the media (TV, newspapers, social media, websites), but also as statements before the congress or in the form of a series of lectures. It also honors individuals who have given an important impetus to the dialogue on climate change in population groups who usually deny the human influence on the climate.

The prize consists of a financial component, an engraving, a mention in the Eos magazine and recognition at the AGU autumn meeting, as well as two additional tickets for the banquet at which the prize is awarded.
