The Club Deportivo Chetumal is a Mexican sports club based in Chetumal , the capital of the state of Quintana Roo . Its football department , which was represented in the country's second-highest division between 1985 and 1992, is best known .

The soccer team played in the early 1980s in the Tercera División and rose as runner-up in this fourth-rate league since 1982 in the summer of 1985 in the third-rate Segunda Division 'B' . By acquiring the second division license of the financially troubled traditional club Unión de Curtidores , Chetumal skipped the third division and started in the second-rate Segunda Division in the 1985/86 season .
