CoRoT-1 b
CoRoT-1 b , formerly called CoRoT-Exo-1 b , is an exoplanet that accompanies the star CoRoT-1 and is classified as Hot Jupiter . Due to its high mass , it is assumed that it is a gas giant . The planet orbits its parent star every 1.5 days at a distance of about 0.03 astronomical units , and has a mass of about 1.3 M J .
This planet was discovered using the transit method. It is the first exoplanet to be discovered with the help of the French COROT space telescope.
