Reconstruction of an emigrant ship

The Cobh Heritage Center in Cobh commemorates the Irish emigration and the shipping disasters of the RMS Titanic and the RMS Lusitania .

Over three million Irish left Ireland via the port of Cobh. In the center, which is located in the Victorian train station of Cobh, the history of the first Irish emigrants to Virginia , Carolina and Canada is shown as well as the deportation of Irish slave laborers to the West Indies at the time of Cromwell . The emigration history covers the period from 1600 to the 1950s and also addresses the Great Famine in Ireland . The sinking of the Titanic and the Lusitania is also taken up, since Cobh was the last port of call for these unlucky ships.
