The Codex Assemanianus (or Codex Assemanius ) is a manuscript from the 10th or 11th century in Glagolitic script . It consists of 158 sheets and is in the Vatican Library in Rome ( shelf mark : Codex Vaticanus Slavicus 3 Glagoliticus ). The codex consists of an evangelist with a menologion . It is one of the oldest known texts in the Old Slavonic language .

The codex was found in 1736 by Giuseppe Simone Assemani in a Greek Orthodox monastery in Jerusalem .
