The Codex Gelnhausen is a legal collection written down by the Jihlava town clerk Johannes von Gelnhausen at the beginning of the 15th century . The extremely magnificent and valuable codex, which in particular summarizes the legal principles of the “Oberhof in Bergsachen” in Jihlava, is still preserved today in the Jihlava city archive. He is considered an important source of Czech history in the late Middle Ages .
