Lake Cohoha ( Lake Cyohoha or Tshohoha ) is a lake on the border of Rwanda and Burundi .
geography
Lake Cohoha is located in the southeast of Rwanda (northern Burundi). Of the area of the lake, about 19.5 km² are in Rwanda and 59 km² in Burundi. The lake stretches over a length of about 27 kilometers in a north-west-south-east direction and is very branched.
The lake is nicknamed South because about 15 km north, in Rwanda, there is a similar lake of the same name, only with the nickname North.
Hydrology
The lake usually communicates with nearby Akanyaru by diffusion through an intermediate swamp. It rarely happens during floods that the two bodies of water are directly connected.
