Coleraine Castle
Coleraine Castle ( Irish Caisleán Chúil Raithin ) was a castle in the city of Coleraine in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland .
The castle was built in the 12th century and was under the control of the Scottish magnate Thomas of Galloway . Hugh de Lacy besieged the castle along with the King of Tir Eoghain , Aed O'Neill, and destroyed it. The castle was rebuilt in 1248 for John FitzGeoffrey , Lord Chief Justice of Ireland .
