Colin Smith (Hispanist)
Christopher Colin Smith (born September 27, 1927 in Brighton , † February 16, 1997 in Cambridge ) was an English Hispanist and lexicographer .
Smith was a professor at Cambridge University and author of the Collins Spanish-English / English-Spanish Dictionary . He devoted himself to researching the medieval, Old Castilian epic . Smith studied and edited an edition of the Castilian heroic epic Cantar del Mio Cid and enriched the discussion on this work with new insights.
