Colin Walsh

Colin Walsh (* 1955 ) is an English organist and church musician .

Life

His teachers included Simon Preston , Nicholas Danby and Jean Langlais , with whom he studied for three years at St. Clothilde in Paris. He worked at various important organist positions in Great Britain, e.g. B. at the St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle , the Christ Church Cathedral in Oxford and at the Salisbury Cathedral before 2,003 organist (Organist Laureate) of Lincoln Cathedral was appointed.

Colin Walsh has concentrated on French symphonic and modern organ music in his repertoire , with which he performs regularly at home and abroad. His interpretations have given him worldwide recognition and make him one of the leading English organists of his generation. In 1988 he performed Messiaen's organ works in the presence of the composer.
