The Collège Stanislas de Paris is a private Roman Catholic school in the 6th arrondissement in Paris . The school includes an École maternelle , a Lycée and preparatory classes for the entrance exams of the Grandes Écoles . The school complex spans Rue de Rennes, Rue Notre-Dame-des-Champs, Rue du Montparnasse and Boulevard Montparnasse.
history
The school was founded on August 15, 1804 by the Catholic clergyman Claude Liautard (1774-1892) under the name Maison d'éducation de la rue Notre-Dame-des-Champs . Since 1822 the official name is Collège Stanislas . It was named after the Polish King Stanisław Leszczyński , the great-grandfather of Louis XVIII. whose middle name was Stanislas . Since 1847 the institute has been located at 22 Rue Notre-Dame-des-Champs in the 6th arrondissement . Since 1903 the school has been owned by a Société Anonyme , a stock corporation in which alumni of the school are involved.
