The CEEB code

The College Board maintains a complex numerical register for various countries, courses, scholarships, test centers, and high schools. This is not only used internally by the College Board, but also used by other educational institutions for clear identification. The ACT Inc. , the biggest competitor of the College Board, maintains a similar numerical database. However, this is rarely used externally.

Evaluation error

In March 2006, the College Board announced that it had incorrectly scored several thousand tests from October 2005. Although the error had been known for a long time, the evaluation committee waited months to announce it to the public. Since the result of the SAT is a significant decision criterion for many colleges for the admission of a student, evaluation standards had to be changed.
