Color Me Badd
Color Me Badd is an American R&B / a cappella band. The quartet of Bryan Abrams, Mark Calderon, Kevin Thornton and Sam Watters formed in Oklahoma City before moving to New York . Color Me Badd became known through hits like I Wanna Sex You Up , I adore mi amor and All 4 Love .
biography
Color Me Badd's first album, CMB , was released in the summer of 1991. With the song I Wanna Sex You Up , which was also on the soundtrack for New Jack City , they stormed the charts worldwide. They came in at number 2 in the USA and number 1 in the UK . The next two single releases, I adore mi amor and All 4 Love , made it to the top of the charts in the USA in 1991 and 1992 respectively. Other top 20 hits were Slow Motion and Thinkin 'Back . Color Me Badd sold more than three million records from their first album.
After the fans were put off waiting for new releases with the album Young, Gifted & Badd - The Remixes , a remix album released in late 1992, their second album Time & Chance was released in autumn 1993 . It contained 19 new songs, including Choose and Time & Chance, two singles that did not make it into the top 20 in the United States. After all, more than 500,000 copies of this album were sold in the USA and thus achieved RIAA gold status . With the single The Earth, the Sun, the Rain from the record Now & Forever , which was released in mid-1996 , they finally made it back into the top 20.
Color Me Badd then switched to Sony to release a new album. But the commercial success of Awakening failed to materialize and in 1998 the band split up.
2010 saw a comeback without Sam Watters.
