Combined Joint Expeditionary Force

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Combined Joint Expeditionary Force ( CJEF ; French Force Expéditionnaire Interarmées ) is an intervention force for global combat missions formed from various types of forces . It should include up to 6500 French and 6500 British soldiers. Its creation was decided on November 2, 2010 through agreements on defense cooperation between France and Great Britain . According to the Science and Politics Foundation , the Franco-British CJEF, unlike the Franco-German Brigade , would be able to independently carry out robust combat missions.

In June, with the maneuver “Flanders 2011” in the Center d'entraînement au combat in Mailly-le-Camp, further interoperability between combat troops from both countries was tested. 1,150 French and 450 British soldiers took part in the maneuver from June 22 to 29, 2011. In use, parts were the 7th Armored Brigade (British 7th Armored Brigade) and the 3 e Brigade Mechanized (3rd Mechanized Brigade).

In February 2012 British and French soldiers conducted exercises in Otterburn, Northumberland under the contract . Units involved were the British 5th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland (5 SCOTS), the 16 Air Assault Brigade (16 Air Asslt Bde) and the French 8 e Régiment de Parachutistes d'Infanterie de Marine (8 e RPIMa), the 11 e [[Parachutiste Brigade (11 e BPa)]]. As early as December 2011, the British took part in joint exercises at the Center d'entraînement aux actions en zone urbaine (CENZUB) in the Camp de Sissonne in northern France.
