Commentationes Historiae Iuris Helveticae

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Commentationes Historiae Iuris Helveticae (also Commentationes for short ) are a series of journals devoted to legal history that has been published in two languages (German / French) by Stämpfli Verlag since 2007 .

The editors of this series, which also appears as an e-book, are Felix Hafner ( University of Basel ), Andreas Kley ( University of Zurich ) and Victor Monnier ( University of Geneva ). The Commentationes deal with the history of political and legal institutions, the history of political ideas as well as the history of private and criminal law. The focus is on Switzerland and its cantons. But the Commentationes also deal with the legal history of other countries, which should by no means remain excluded.

Up until the Commentationes, there was no journal in Switzerland for legal history in general and constitutional history in particular. The Political Yearbook , founded by Carl Hilty , was last published in 1917.

The editors write that “the Commentationes do not want to restrict themselves to national borders or to a specific area of law. It is the Latin title that spans multilingual Switzerland and its history. "
