Commodore Amiga (character set)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Commodore Amiga is an 8-bit character encoding that was developed in the late 1980s for the AmigaOS operating system on the 16-bit home computers of the manufacturer Commodore . Except for four modifications (highlighted in color) it is based on US-ASCII , ISO 8859-1 and the control characters from ISO / IEC 6429. A “ long hyphen ” is assigned to “ soft hyphen ” ( AD16 ) or “ conditional hyphen ” . Instead of the control character “ DEL ” ( 16 ) there is a dot matrix “▒”. The small superscript “a” ( 16 ) is underlined, analogously to the small superscript “o” ( 16 ). After the introduction of the euro, the “€” symbol (unofficial) was assigned to the universal currency symbol ( 16 ) . At this point the development of the Commodore Amiga was already stopped. 7FAABAA4
