Commonitorium (church)

Commonitorium (“Merkbuch”, “Memorandum”) was the name in the old church for a concise, anti-heretical exposition of contentious contents of the church's faith .

The most famous work of the genre is the Commonitorium of Vinzenz von Lérins from the 5th century, but also the Commonitorium fidelium of St. Orientius is known.
