Linotype Compatil

Compatil is a font family with 16 typefaces , which comprises the following 4 families composed:

  • Linotype Compatil Exquisite
  • Linotype Compatil Fact
  • Linotype Compatil Letter
  • Linotype Compatil Text

Silja Bilz, Reinhard Haus, Erik Faulhaber and Olaf Leu were involved in the development of Linotype Compatil (from 1999 to 2000) .

The Linotype Compatil Fact is a new design. The Linotype Compatil Exquisit was created from the Guardi font, the Linotype Compatil Letter from the LinoLetter font and the Linotype Compatil Text from the Linotype Centennial font .

In 2005, the Linotype Compatil font families were supplemented with real italic styles.

Main features

  • Absolutely uniform tracking of the individual font families, which allows interchangeability without changing the type area.
  • Tabular digits for the best possible legibility, e.g. B. in business reports.
