Font family

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The term font family (also mixed or hybrid font family , or writing system ) referred to in the typography a special kind of font families whose different typefaces in several categories of font classification are represented.

The basic forms within the clan are identical, but the letters differ in the class-specific characteristics, which enables, for example, very similar grotesque and antiqua styles. In addition to the grotesque and antiqua styles , some clans contain special semisans , semiserif or mixed styles . One of the first typefaces in 1932 was Jan van Krimpen's Romulus, which juxtaposed an antiqua with a grotesque.
