Charles Bigelow
Charles Bigelow (* 1945 in Detroit ) is a typeface designer and historian. In 1982 he received a MacArthur Fellowship . Together with Kris Holmes , he is the creator of the Lucida and Wingdings typeface families and owner of the typeface manufacturer Bigelow & Holmes .
From 1982 to 1997 he was Professor of Digital Typography at Stanford University . In mid-2006 he accepted a professorship at the Rochester Institute of Technology .
