Conagra Brands, Inc. , until 2016 ConAgra Foods, Inc. , is one of the largest food manufacturers in the United States . Conagra Brands currently employs 12,400 people and is headquartered in Chicago . Conagra Brands products are available in supermarkets as well as in restaurants, snack bars and catering companies.

Company history

The company was founded in 1919 by Alva Kinney, who combined four flour mills to form Nebraska Consolidated Mills . In 1940 the company started producing its own flour in its mills. In 1971 the company name changed to ConAgra. In October 2015, ConAgra announced that it would lay off 1,500 administrative employees and move its headquarters from Omaha , Nebraska to Chicago after nearly a century . With the sale of the subsidiary Lamb Weston in 2016, ConAgra Foods changed its name to Conagra Brands.

Research and Development
