Ice floes in Conamara Chaos

Conamara Chaos is chaotic terrain on Jupiter's moon Europa .

It was named after Conamara (Connemara) in Ireland because of its similarly rugged landscape. The Conamara Chaos landscape was shaped by a disruption of the ice crust . The region consists of ice floes that have been moved and rotated. The plates are surrounded by a deeper structure, which is still unclear whether it was formed by water, mud or ice that rose from the depths.

Conamara Chaos is believed to be evidence of a liquid ocean beneath the icy surface on Europe.
