Cone Island is an island off the east coast of the Northland region ofthe North Island of New Zealand .
geography
The approximately 540 m long and 220 m wide island is located around 5.5 km north of Whangaroa Harbor and is part of the larger Stephenson Island to the southeast . The two islands are located on the seafront of Whangaroa Bay and administratively belong to the Far North District . In the north-westerly direction, several rocks and the Kawhiti Reef rocky reef are in front of Cone Island .
