The congreve is a moon crater, which is located on the back of the moon and is on the equator of the moon . To the northwest is the Korolev crater , southeast the Icarus crater and north the Zhukovskiy . It was named after the inventor William Congreve . There is partial erosion on the eastern edge of the craterdue to small impacts and their craters. The rim and the inner crater wall are more protruding in the west, while in the southeast the elevation at the rim of the crater is only very shallow. In the interior of the crater there are many small craters in the northeastern part, in the rest there are smaller, tiny craters.
