Zhukovskiy is an impact crater on the back of the moon and therefore cannot be directly observed from Earth. The Lebedinskiy crater adjoins its eastern edge , so that the two form a pair of craters . To the east-southeast lies the Engelhardt crater and further to the southeast the huge Korolev crater .
The edge of Zhukovskiy shows some traces of erosion, especially at the northern and southern ends. The crater floor is flat except for a small, conspicuous crater that takes up the southern half.
