Conrad Brann

Conrad Max Benedict Brann (born July 20, 1925 in Rostock ; † June 23, 2014 in Maiduguri ) was a German-British linguist.

Life

Brann studied linguistics and international relations in Hamburg, Rome, Oxford, Paris and Bruges. He taught English at the University of Hamburg and worked in the UNESCO administration from 1958 to 1965 . Brann lived in Nigeria since 1966. He was the founder and since 1977 head of the Department of Languages ​​and Linguistics at Maiduguri University .
