Conrad Carl Casimir Döbbelin ( 1763 in Kassel - 23 January 1821 in Berlin ) was a German theater actor and principal .

Life

Döbbelin, son of the well-known drama director Karl Theophil Döbbelin, was first a member of his father's stage. Disputes caused him to leave his parents' stage in March 1788 and to found his own company. With this he first made a guest appearance in Magdeburg, then toured the surrounding cities and tried in 1797 to go on other art trips.

Tired of his own management, in 1809 he accepted an engagement as an actor at the Stuttgart Hofbühne, where he stayed for a long time. Increasing age caused him to look for a quiet sphere of activity under the direction of his son. His death surprised him on January 23, 1821 in Berlin.

Döbbelin was married twice. His first wife was Betti Scheel , who worked for him as a member, played first lovers and also died in his company in 1791. His second wife was Auguste Feige .
